Insert/Modify a variable

  1. Click on the "Insert/Modify Variable" icon or select the "Tool/Insert/Modify Variable..." menu.  If a variable was selected in the script, the selected variable properties are displayed in the "Variable Properties" windows.



  2. Enter a name for the new variable or select an existing one in the "Name" drop-down list.
  3. Select the "Variable" radio button to create variables (default) or the "Constant" radio button to create a constant.

Variables

  1. Select a variable "Type": Available variable types are:
     
    Form form variable
    String character string variable
    String[] 1 dimension array of character string variable
    String[][] 2 dimensions array of character string variable
    String[][][] 3 dimensions array of character string variable
    Integer integer variable
    Integer[] 1 dimension array of integer variable
    Integer[][] 2 dimensions array of integer variable
    Integer[][][] 3 dimensions array of integer variable
  2. Select a variable "Scope": The Scope of a variable determines which Virtual Users and Scripts can use a variable during a Job-run. The default variable scope is Local.

  3. Select "None" to create a simple variable.
    Select "Range" or "Value list" to create a databank variable (values in the list must employ escape sequences).
     
  4. Click "Generate". The variables is declared in the script.
     

Constant

Select "String value" to create a character string constant and specify a value for it (value must employ escape sequences).

Select "Integer value" to create an integer constant and specify a value for it.

Click "Generate". The constant is declared in the script.
