Tablespaces

The Tablespaces window shows information about the tablespaces activity. 

The grid located at the top of the window shows each individual tablespace with the following information for each one:

Name The name of a table space.
Partition Database partition number.
Type The type of a table space.
Content TTTT
State The type of content in a table space.
Size (MB) Total size in a table space.
Free (%) The percentage of total size that are currently free in a table space.
Free (MB) The total size that are currently free in a table space.

By default, the last snapshot is displayed in the grid. Use the slidder (or the arrow buttons) located at the top of the grid to navigate through the collected snapshots. In monitoring, the "Update" button must be unchecked to be able to navigate through the collected snapshots.

Select one or more tablespace in the grid (Check box at the left of the grid) to update the graphes located at the bottom of the window. If several tablespaces are selected, the statistics are aggregated.

Hit Ratio (%)

The buffer pool hit ratio indicates the percentage of time that the database manager did not need to load a page from disk in order to service a page request because the page was already in the buffer pool. The greater the buffer pool hit ratio, the lower the frequency of disk I/O.

Avg Pool I/O Time (ms)

Write Provides the average amount time spent physically writing data or index pages from the buffer pool to disk.
Read Indicates the average amount time spent reading in data and index pages from the table space containers (physical) for all types of table spaces.
R Async Indicates the average amount time spent reading in data and index pages from the table space containers (physical) by asynchronous engine dispatchable units (EDUs) for all types of table spaces.
W Async The average elapsed time spent writing data or index pages from the buffer pool to disk by database manager page cleaners.
R Direct The average elapsed time required to perform the direct reads.
W Direct The average elapsed time required to perform the direct writes.

Write (Unit/s)

Data Indicates the number of times a buffer pool data page was physically written to disk.
D Sync The number of physical data write requests were performed synchronously. That is, physical data page writes that were performed by database manager agents.
Index Indicates the number of times a buffer pool index page was physically written to disk.
I Sync The number of physical index write requests were performed synchronously. That is, physical index page writes that were performed by database manager agents.
Total Indicates the number of times a buffer pool data page, data page for an XML storage object (XDA), index page were physically written to disk.
T Sync The number of physical data, index write requests performed synchronously (include on XML storage object data pages). That is, physical page writes that were performed by database manager agents.
Direct The number of write operations that do not use the buffer pool.

Read (Unit/s)

D Logical Indicates the number of data pages which have been requested from the buffer pool (logical) for temporary, regular and large table spaces.
D Physical Indicates the number of data pages read in from the table space containers (physical) for temporary, regular and large table spaces.
D Sync Indicates the number of physical reads that were performed synchronously (that is, physical data page reads that were performed by database manager agents).
I Logical Indicates the number of index pages which have been requested from the buffer pool (logical) for temporary, regular and large table spaces.
I Physical Indicates the number of index pages read in from the table space containers (physical) for temporary, regular and large table spaces.
I Sync Indicates the number of physical reads that were performed synchronously (that is, physical index page reads that were performed by database manager agents).
T Log Indicates the number of data pages, pages for XML storage object (XDA) data, index pages which have been requested from the buffer pool (logical) for temporary, regular and large table spaces.
T Phys Indicates the number of data pages, data pages for an XML storage object (XDA), index pages read in from the table space containers (physical) for temporary, regular and large table spaces.
T Sync The number of physical reads performed synchronously (include on XML storage object data pages) (that is, physical data and index page reads that were performed by database manager agents (include on XML data)).
Direct The number of read operations that do not use the buffer pool.

The grid located at the middle of the window shows each individual quiescer, filtered with tablespace selected from previous grid, with the following information for each one:

Tablesspace ID The table space ID of the object that causes a table space to be quiesced.
Object ID The object ID of the object that causes a table space to be quiesced.
Authorization ID Authorization ID of the user holding a quiesce state.
Agent ID Agent ID of the agent holding a quiesce state.
State The type of quiesce being done (for example, "SHARE", "UPDATE", or "EXCLUSIVE").
Tablespace Name The name of a table space.
Partition Database partition number.

The grid located at the middle of the window shows each individual range, filtered with the tablespace selected from previous grid, with the following information for each one:

Number This value represents the number of a range within the table space map.
Stripe Set This value represents the stripe set in which a range resides.
Offset The offset from stripe 0 of the beginning of the stripe set to which a range belongs.
Max Page This value represents the maximum page number that is mapped by a range.
Max Extent This value represents the maximum extent number that is mapped by a range.
Start Stripe This value represents the number of the first stripe in a range.
End Stripe This value represents the number of the last stripe in a range.
Adjustement This value represents the offset into the container array in which a range actually starts.
Containers This value represents the number of containers in the current range.
Container ID An integer that uniquely defines a container within a range.
Tablespace ID An integer that uniquely represents a table space used by the current database.
Partition Database partition number.

The grid located at the bottom of the window shows each individual table, filtered with the tablespace selected from previous grid, with the following information for each one:

Schema The schema of the table.
Name The name of the table.
Rows Read This is the number of rows read from the table.
Rows Written This is the number of rows changed (inserted, deleted or updated) in the table.
Page Reorgs The number of page reorganizations executed for a table.
Data Pages The number of disk pages consumed by a table. This size represents the base table size only. Space consumed by index objects, LOB data, and long data are reported by index_object_pages, lob_object_pages, and long_object_pages, respectively.
Index Pages The number of disk pages consumed by all indexes defined on a table.
Lob Pages The number of disk pages consumed by LOB data.
Long Pages The number of disk pages consumed by long data in a table.
XML Pages The number of disk pages consumed by XML storage object (XDA) data.
Tablespace ID An integer that uniquely represents a table space used by the current database.
Partition Database partition number.
