Locks

The Locks window shows information about the locks and deadlocks activity. 

The grids located at the bottom of the window shows each individual Lock and Deadlock with the following information for each one:

Locks:

Database Database name
Object Object Name
Page Page that is locked when LockLevel = ‘PAGE’
Type Type of lock [‘exclusive table’, ‘shared page’, and so on]
Row Row that is locked when LockLevel = ‘ROW’
User User name
Lock Owner lock owner identifier
Id Object identifier
Spid ID of process that holds the lock.
Kpid Kernel process identifier

Deadlocks:

Resolve Time Time at which the deadlock was resolved
Database database where the object resides
Object Name of the object
Victim KPID KPID of the victim process for the deadlock
Held User Name Name of the user for whom the lock is being held
Held Appl Name Name of the application holding the lock
Held Family ID SPID of the parent process of the process holding the lock
Held Spid SPID of process holding the lock
Held Kpid KPID of process holding the lock
Held Lock Type The type of lock being held
Help Procedure stored procedure that caused the lock to be held, if applicable
Wait User Name Name of the user for whom the lock is being requested
Wait Family ID SPID of the parent process of the process waiting for the lock
Wait Spid SPID of the process waiting for the lock
Wait Lock Type The type of lock requested
Wait Time (ms) Amount of time in milliseconds that the waiting process was blocked before the deadlock was resolved
