SNMP Profiles

A SNMP profile is a set of OIDs arranged according to personal criteria. Profiles are displayed in the profile docking view located at the bottom-left of the "SNMP Collector" window. 

These criteria can be:

OIDs contained in profiles can be inserted in a collector by dragging and dropping (see Add OIDs in a collector).

This section describes how to:

Create a new profile 

To create a new profile, select the " New Profile" contextual menu option. The following dialog box will open:

Enter the profile name, a profile description and press the "OK" button to validate. A new profile entry ( icon) is inserted in the profile tree.

 

Manual creation of folders and OIDs in a profile

Select a Profile node or a Folder node in the tree and choose the " New Folder/OID" contextual menu option. The following dialog box will open:

 

 

Select either the Folder or OID radio button. Enter the node name, the node value (OID only), a node description and press the "OK" button to validate. A new Folder or OID is inserted in the tree.

Drag and drop nodes from the SNMP Tree view to a profile

 

SNMP Tree's view OIDs and folders can be inserted in a profile by dragging and dropping:

  1. Select one or several nodes in the SNMP Tree.  

  2. Drag and drop the nodes from the SNMP Tree into a profile.

In the following example, the ".system" and ".application" folders are dragged and dropped to the "NewProfile0" profile. All the valid OIDs in these folders are inserted in the "NewProfile0" profile under the ".smuxPeerTable" folder.


Duplicate nodes

 

The Duplicate nodes command is used to copy selected nodes.

 

 Modify a node

Select a node in the tree and choose " Modify" from the contextual menu to change the node attributes. The following dialog box will open:

 

 

Modify the parameters and press the "OK" button to validate.

 

Remark:

 

To move items inside a profile or another one:

  1. Select the items,

  2. Drag and drop the selection to the new position.

 Delete nodes

Selected nodes can be removed by choosing the " Delete" contextual menu option or pressing the "Del" key.
